In 2007 my husband and I took a trip to Nova Scotia to celebrate our 30th anniversary. I discovered beautiful hooked rugs in the gift shops. They were definitely beyond my "souvenir budget", so I just admired them and went on my way. Then that summer when we went to the Tillamook County Fair, I saw the craft of rug hooking being demonstrated. I was thrilled to discover that this was something that I could do . The ladies there put me in contact with Shelley Flannery and Barbara Hanson who taught me how to hook, and who I am now glad to have as friends. Rug hooking has become a big part of my life. When I was young, my mother taught me to crochet, embroider, and sew. Love for the textile crafts has stayed with me all my life. I now focus mostly on rug hooking and quilting. Greg and I live in Tigard, Oregon, and feel blessed to live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. We have 4 grown children and 4 grandchildren (so far!). We also have a cat and a dog who I happily spoil.
